Welcome to Walkuri! My name is Eva Hopman and I have been making jewelry since 2018.
This website is still under construction, but for now I hope you can find everything you are looking for. Feel free to browse and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
All of the jewelry you see on my page is handmade and made to last. Durability and sustainability are very important to me, and I try to run my business in the most ethically and environmentally friendly way I can. Most of the pieces I make are made of sterling silver and/or 14kt gold, although I have also worked in brass, copper and platinum.
Let’s stay in touch! Be the first to know about upcoming offers and workshops. I promise I won’t flood your inbox.
Walkuri also works on commission. Maybe you’re looking for a unique pendant with a specific type of stone or design. Perhaps you’re looking for custom made wedding bands, or you need a ring in a size that is uncommon. Don’t worry, we will find something that suits you perfectly, and I will be there to answer any questions you may have.
Did you know you can find me on most socials? Let’s connect!
Before I began on my goldsmithing journey, I was an archaeologist. I graduated at the Unniversity of Groningen in 2015 (MA Art History & Archaeology). I loved traveling the world to join in excavations!
Through a leap of fate I ended up working in a local jewelry store. There my love for jewelry was truly ignited. I soon picked up several classes and courses that lead to the creation of my brand, Walkuri. One of the things that I love about goldsmithing is that there is so much to learn; in fact I don’t think there is a goldsmith alive who has mastered all the different techniques available to us. In 2024 I entered the two-year course in goldsmithing at Collectief Edelsmeden Leeuwarden, to further hone my skills.
Of course I have not abandoned my passion for history. Much of my work is clearly inspired by ancient artefacts, techniques and mythology. My background in archaeology means I have a deep understanding of the relevance of jewelry in material culture.
